funny stories...

I remember when we first set Mongo's tank up. We just bought a bunch of feeder goldfish and his tank was set.The next morning he called me to the living room and said, "Honey, we either have a dead goldfish, or this guy is having a really bad day". He was dead, he was wrapped right around the filter. I started laughing so hard.

Mongo, Noodle, and myself had just returned home from a fish purchase. I noticed that there was what appeared to be reddish orange colored eggs on the front tank wall. I called my son and hubby over to check it out. I sat there for an hour waiting to see something happen. I got up to do something and my son yells to me "Mom, those are not eggs. It is pizza sauce!" My husband had prepared our pizza in front of my tank and he splattered pizza sauce on the tank. Needless to say we were laughing our asses off. I sat there for an hour watching pizza sauce!!

I remember when we first brought home Mongo's blue crayfish. It was so much fun to watch. I knew we had a great set up for it, even though it should really be in a larger tank. I woke up one morning and looked for the crayfish, I couldn't see it and then noticed it's shell. I thought for sure it was dead, because of the filmy stuff hanging from it. I told Mongo it was dead and he said, "No, he probably just molted." He looked, and sure enough it had. Just today he woke up, and said that Rocky, (blue crayfish) was dead. I said, "No, he probably just molted again." Mongo looked at the shell and said, "No, it is dead." I got off PC and looked, and just laughed. I said, "Mongo, don't you remember we had this conversation about a month ago?" Sure enough, Rocky had just molted. Funny, he thought the same thing after it had already happened. We were even talking about how it was probably about time that he molted again.
